Prior to Test

Prior to your allergy skin testing we will advise you to refrain from certain medications for a period of five days. A few medications may need to be stopped for even longer. The reason being is that several types of medications will inhibit the skin reaction. As a result your testing can be inaccurate. This is very important and is essential that you cooperate. If you should forget and use a medication that you have been advised to stop during the five day period before your testing, just call our allergy clinic and we will re-schedule your appointment. Please notify us at least two working days if you will be unable to keep your appointment.

Medications to stop five days prior: click here for list of medications that our office requires that you stop five days prior to your skin testing.

Please complete your questionnaires and bring them with you to your appointment.

Please let us know if you are using a medication for high blood pressure or heart disease - we do not test or treat patients using Beta Blockers.
